The Earth is threatened by a powerful creature who destroyed 70% of the Moon with its power, rendering into the shape of a crescent moon forever. The creature claims that within a year, Earth will also be destroyed by him, but he offers mankind a chance to avert this fate. In class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School, he starts working as a homeroom teacher where he teaches his students not only regular subjects, but the ways of assassination. The Japanese government promises a reward of ¥10 billion (100 million USD) to whomever among the students succeeds in killing the teacher, whom they have named “Koro Sensei” (the meaning is unkillable teacher).
However, this has proven to be an almost impossible task, as not only does he have several superpowers at his disposal, including the capacity of moving at Mach 20, but he is also the best teacher they’ve ever had, helping them not only to improve their grades, but also their individual skills and perspectives for the future.

Those who are resistant to death are called “Demi-humans”.
That day, Kei Nagai, a High school student, should have died in a traffic accident, but he comes back to life shortly after. In other words, Kei is a demi-human. Since then, Kei’s world changes dramatically. Terrified and without knowing what is going on, Kei is saved by his friend, Kaito. Together, they flee deep into a deserted mountain. Later, a group of demi-humans who are hostile against humans contact Kaito… Who is he fighting against? Who should he side with? As the storyprogresses it is made apparent that these demi – humans or Ajin can control beings known as black ghosts or IBM’S. These black ghosts can’t usually be seen by non- Ajin unless under some extreme conditions like extreme fear or hostility. Kei is unique, in that his black ghost moves and acts beyond his will, meaning that he cannot control his black ghost like the rest of the ajin can. Kei appears to behave like a normal boy his age would in the beginning of the story, until his true character is revealed. Kei has no real feelings of compassion or sympathy for most other humans. He only acts according to what the situation calls for, even confessing to not caring for anyone who isn’t useful to him at the time. The only person who he seems to care for is himself, though he does seem to care for Kaito to a greater extent than other people he’s encountered. Kei is extremely bright and at the moment that his strong point, for it allows him to formulate plans and escape tough situations. He is rational and thinks things through. As the manga progresses it seems to be suggesting that the reason Kei’s black ghost appears to have a mind of its own is because he apparently had it for a long time without realizing it so it developed without any supervision, adopting his suppressed hatred for humans. As to why he hates humans, we have yet to discover in the manga, there’s still a lot of mystery behind Kei and why he is the way he is.
